Walk at Brueton Park

Sunday 27 Aug 2017

by Lewisfuggie

Updated: Wednesday 23 Aug

We have set up a new quarterly walk at Brueton Park as it is so close to the kennels

Meet from 10.30 for 11.00 start

(If you are able to take a kennel dog on the walk, please contact the kennels on 0121 782 7702 a week prior to the event)

We are hoping that as many friends of PBRGT as possible will be able to join us for this quarterly event to promote awareness of Greyhounds as Pets.

The walk will start at Brueton Car Park, Warwick Road and the walk will be around the park, hopefully meeting the hundreds of visitors that will be out and about at this time of year.

We will round the lake and through through the park from one side to the other (Solihull Town Centre end)

The walk should be of approx 90 mins. The entire walk will be on paved areas (so no need for any wellies!!)

Refreshments available from the Parkridge Centre coffee shop in the park, which is approx half way round, so those of you or your dogs dont have to do the full walk if you dont want as we will go past the Coffee Shop and then return back past it on our way back to the car park.

Everyone is welcome whether you have a dog or not. All breeds are also welcome. ALL dogs must be kept on the lead whilst on the organised walk. Thank You. Please also bring your muzzle with you, if you have a dog that gets excited by small dogs etc. Thanks

I just want to say a massive thank you to all the lovely people who made me and my son feel so welcome on the walk today, especially to the lady who let him walk her dog (Tess) for a while - you made him so happy! My son had a quite debilitating phobia of dogs until about a year ago and he has worked really hard to overcome it. Seeing him surrounded by hounds and blissfully happy was just a joy. Yes we fell in love with Sheila - she is just adorable- and we hope to get the rest of the family along to the kennels to meet her very soon. Thank you all.

Thank you to everyone who attended the walk today, esp those that collected / looked after a kennel dog on the walk. We had 41 sighthounds plus 1 very small non sighthound. It was very warm so we didn't do the full walk and had quite a few breaks under the trees. Thank you to everyone that controlled there dogs extremely well when we had two small dogs off lead run through us all. See you all November. X
