Daybreaks 13th birthday!

Sunday 30 Jun 2019

Updated: Saturday 29 Jun

Daybreaks Kennels turns 13 this year!

Why not come along and help us celebrate between 11.00am and 3.00pm

We'll have some fun, old fashioned fairground stalls for you to try your hand at. Hook-a-Duck, Hoopla and others with some fun prizes to be won, and your hounds can have a go at their very own lucky dip and sausage bobbing games too.

Our grand raffle will be drawn at 3.00pm. Tickets will soon be available and there are some lovely prizes on offer, including a weeks holiday in a dog friendly apartment in Padstow, £500 cash kindly donated by Fivelands Vetinary practice, hampers and the chance for your dog to appear in Daybreaks 2020 calendar.

Picnic bags will be on sale, with a vegetarian,  vegan and gluten free option (if you require any of these could you please let us know in advance so we make sure cater for you).  We've even put together picnic bags for your hound so you can picnic on the lawn together.

Parking is at the Birmngham Exiles Rugby Club.

Pop the date in your diary, and keep your fingers crossed for some sunshine!

All money raised at our Birthday party and with the raffle will go to Daybreaks Trust, the charity set up to directly help fund improvements at the kennels.

We are in the process of finalising arrangements, so if you are able to help on the day in any way it would be very much appreciated.  If any of you bakers out there are able to make a cake  or two that would be great.

If you would like further information please either call the kennels on 0121 782 7702 , Jo on 07421 099643 or Angie on 07963 988883.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Lucy will be at the party tomorrow armed with her camera! She will be offering photos, ploaroid style and photo booth style. A percentage of the profit will go back into Daybreaks. :))) Why not treat your four legged friend to a Daybreaks Birthday party photo as a memento of the day! :))

Any idea what times the rugby club car park will be open from and to? We're getting to kennels early to help and probably staying to the end. Last year we got locked in!

If you are coming to the kennels for our 13th Birthday party on Sunday, we would be very grateful for a tin of pilchards, sardines or dog food.

If anyone is keen to do some baking, cakes would be very much appreciated too!!

Thank you so much. :)))

Not long now until the Daybreaks 13th Birthday party, just over 3 weeks to go. 30th June is the date to pop on your calendar or in you diary, and will take place between 11am and 3pm at the kennels, will have games for both humans and hounds. Come along and have some fun and try your luck. I'm led to believe there is a prize every time!

Parking will be available at Birmingham Exiles Rugby Club.

We are in the process of finalising arrangements, so if you are able lend a hand, either helping on stalls, games, baking a cake or two or walking a dog, we would be very grateful. Please contact the kennels on 0121 782 7702, Jo on 07421 099643 or Angie on 07963 988883 for further information.

We will have our raffle with some great prizes, a weeks holiday in Padstow, £500 cash donated by Fivelands vets, hampers and a chance for your hound to appear in next years Daybreaks calender!

For refreshments this year we have opted for something a little different. We will have picnic bags on offer, vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options will also be available , please let us know in advance (if possible) if you require any of these to make sure we cater for you. Of course we have not forgotten your dogs, they too can have their very own lovely doggie picnic bag filled with lots of goodies!

As Angie posted previously all monies raised from the Birthday party, raffle and donations received will go directly to the Daybreaks Trust, the charity set up to help fund improvements at the kennels.

We look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible, bring your picnic blanket and lets hope the weather is kind to us. X Jo

The raffle tickets are now on sale at the kennels or if you can't make it over and would like to buy some you can do this by card transaction over the phone!

The latest project we are fundraising for at Daybreaks, is to have a new fire alarm system installed which links directly through to the emergency services and also increased sound proofing (to help keep our neighbours happy). Often if we have a returnee or stressed dog they can bark a lot and understandably for the two B&B businesses directly next to the kennels this has an impact and something we have to deal with. Please support us and keep our kennels safe and sound xxx

It's all the fun of the fair for our party this year, and plans are well under way.

There will be some fun games to have a go at - and don't worry, we haven't forgotten your hounds! They will have their very own lucky dip where they can pick their own present, and a fun "find the treat" game too.

There will be some merchandise for sale, our grand raffle and then you can buy your picnic bag and enjoy a picnic on the lawn (let's hope the sun shines).

Watch this space for more details as they unfold.

Angie xx
