POSTPONED Mike Stewart-Lawrence in concert

Saturday 11 Sep 2021

by Shanesmum

Updated: Wednesday 18 Aug

Mike Stewart-Lawrence and his band are holding a concert at the Dovehouse Theatre, with all proceeds going to Daybreaks Trust.

Tickets, price £7, are now on sale at the kennels.

The Dovehouse Theatre is a lovely venue, with a bar for pre-show and interval drinks and plenty of free parking.

Really hope you can join us - it will be great to get out and about and get together again. x

After much soul searching and many discussions, we have taken the sad decision to postpone the concert.

Ticket sales have been extremely slow, which is not altogether surprising considering the very uncertain situation that we still find ourselves in. We fully appreciate and understand that there is still a certain amount of reticence in committing to an indoor event, especially as the event itself is by no means guaranteed to be able to take place.

The Dovehouse Theatre have been hugely supportive and have offered us an alternate date – Saturday 5th March 2022. We all hope and pray that by then the Covid situation will have improved to a point where we can happily enjoy an indoor gathering confident that nothing will prevent it taking place.

Mike Stewart - Lawrence and his Band are still keen to perform for you and help raise funds for the beautiful boys and girls in Daybreak’s care, so let’s hope that by next Spring we can fill the Theatre and enjoy a great musical evening.

Thank you so much for your understanding and continuing support.

Angie xx

A bit of info from the Dovehouse Theatre. As restrictions have now been eased, wearing a face covering in the auditorium is not mandatory - but please feel free to do so if you feel happier doing so (Michael & I wear ours everywhere & will continue to do so, so join us if you wish). The QR check in code is available, and there will be hand sanitising stations - doing everything we can to keep people safe yet still have a good night out.

Tickets are £7 and are on sale now, give the kennels a call to book. We are operating a seating plan, so just let us know roughly where your party would like to sit, as we are going to keep a bit of space between groups.

Fingers crossed things stay on course & there are no changes so we can have a great social night out whilst raising funds to help the lovely Caesar with his treatment. Hope to see you there.

If anyone is interested, several of us have listened to several of Mike's cd's. We think they are amazing, he also writes most of his own material. We are so very thankful to him and his band for supporting the kennels. Just to let you'll know, Mike has toured America several times and even during lockdown has had more than one of his tracks in the American charts. Tickets are on sale as Angie said for the bargain price of £7. Come along and support the kennels, it's one of the first fundraising events we have been able to do since lockdown. Xx

As we still seem on course for the further relaxation of Covid restrictions later this month, plans for the Mike Stewart-Lawrence fundraising concert are now in full swing. Mike & his dog are regular sand run users, and he volunteered the services of his band to help raise vital funds for the kennels. Tickets, priced £7, are now available from the kennels.

In his own words, his music is a combination of rock, blues and country - a unique sound. Check out his website
