Volunteers Needed !!

by skinnyme

01-May-2018

We are always in need of new volunteers, especially on roadshows. We couldn't re-home our greys without volunteers being out and about spreading the word. There is no better feeling than when you know a grey is in a home because of what you have said to someone on a roadshow. So please if you think you would like to get involved, or organise a roadshow, give us a call, it's actually good fun and, if you are a little nervous at first, we have very experienced volunteers to guide you, we cannot rehome our wonderful dogs without you. Call the kennels or if one of the roadshows on our events page is close to you, contact the organiser, we are very approachable, honest!

I am willing to do local roadshows with Izzy - very dog and people friendly (not even fazed by children).Alison & Izzyxxx

Do we have any willing volunteers wanting to help out on our events. If you have a small dog friendly greyhound and could offer half a day of your time. We really could do with some fresh faces.
We are also after more volunteers for kennel duties and walks. Please let us know below or call the kennels on 01217827702.

I have just retired and would like to volunteer to help at kennels a day a week and also am seriously considering adopting.

We havnt done many roadshows - mainly cos Jato is nervous about men and is scared of children!!! Of the things she worries about they are the worst - evil little things.
But I still remember stepping over Breeze when she was out with Norman and now I spend most of my day stepping over Breeze. X

I have made some lovely friends from taking my two greys on the roadshows and have spent many an enjoyable day promoting these super hounds.

This is how we found out about Greyhounds too and I distinctly remember speaking to Jill and Paul at a Solihill roadshow. A few months later they were doing our home-check in preparation for bringing our boy Gent home. We’ve done roadshows (although not so much recently as our 12 and 10 year old feel the need to hang up their roadshow boots!) as we wanted to give something back and it’s only a few hours. Actually those few hours are the most rewarding, as you share the love of your Grey and those waiting for their forever homes, with the lovely people you meet. Lets face it, who doesn’t love chatting to others about their beautiful Greyhounds! Mand x

A lot of the people who visit the kennels interested in adopting a Greyhound tell us they have met volunteers and their dogs at one of the roadshows. I remember speaking to people when I was interested in adopting my first Greyhound..... I am so grateful to them for their enthusiasm and love for the dogs; after talking to them I was convinced a Greyhound was for me! :) Xxx
