HELP!!!! We need you

by skinnyme

23-Sep-2019

We need roadshow volunteers.

Our waiting list of greyhounds waiting to come into our care has now reached 100!!!

We desperately need people to organise/help on awareness roadshows.

Our awareness events show the public what amazing pets greyhounds make, at the moment we have a small band of organisers who do everything they can, but help would be gratefully appreciated.

If you think you would like to get involved please please contact us, we know it can be a little scary talking to the general public but it's really great fun and knowing that someone you spoke to has rehomed a grey is the best feeling in the world.

Our existing organisers are more than happy to support and guide you so come on everybody, what better thing to talk about than your greyhound!!!

I’ll try to come along to the Webb’s of Wychbold on 21 July so I can talk to the volunteers about what’s involved with helping out. wouldn’t be able to bring my boy based on previous comments as he’s not good with other breeds.

Hi Lisa... It all depends on your own dog as quite a few roadshows have children and little dogs at (not all, but quite a few)... So would depend on the roadshow, each lead event co-ordinator can advise on there event. If your dog is ok with other dogs and children you could bring yours... If not, we normally have a suitable one at the kennels you could borrow :-)

Hello Bingobabe. Thank you for wanting to help, we have two ways you can volunteer, at the kennels or helping on roadshows, if youd like to help at kennels give them a call, if its roadshows, you can call me on 07930 256123 and I can point you in the right direction.

I’m all set to get involved with the roadshows but my girl had a nasty accident so I’ve been busy caring for her.i don’t think bandages and scars give a good impression.
My two Granddaughters are set to become involved too. Any info would be gratefully received

Thank you to everyone who has responded to our Facebook appeal... We will be contacting you over next couple of days (if we havn't already)... We are thinking of doing a 'briefing' at the Rugby Club, where you can ask us questions and find out more..... In the meantime, we can email you the volunteer forms that need completing for you to walk the kennel dogs and get your id badge for events... Please put your email address below and we will email you these. Thanks

Honestly I’d encourage anyone who loves their Greyhound to give it a go. Start with 30 mins or an hour and you’ll be with others who are used to it and who will support you. It’s so rewarding when someone you have spoken to at an awareness roadshow homes one of our Greyhounds. The dogs draw people in so often you don’t even need to initiate the conversation! X
